April Meeting Scheduled

Meeting 3 Agenda

imageThe next meeting regarding the South Fidalgo Subarea Plan will be held on April 17, beginning at 6:00 pm at Walla Walla College Marine Station’s Lindgren Hall, 15510 Rosario Beach Road.

The meeting will present the County’s revised approach to complete the plan, in response to comments voiced at the previous public meeting, held February 8. The presentation will include details on how the County will conduct a thorough, two-stage evaluation of the island’s soils and drainage capacity – identified as a leading issue by residents – and will also identify other issues that can be carried in advance of the drainage study. A process to evaluate and establish direction on those issues will also be outlined by officials and project consultants.

For more, download the meeting agenda using the link above. Directions to Lindgren Hall are available here, and a site-specific map is available for download here.

E-mailed notice was sent on Friday the 5th to all participants included on this site’s address register. Participants may also wish to register for updates using the County’s listserve system.

Neighborhood Areas

MT2-nhoods.pdf

iconOne of Fidalgo Island’s most important characteristics is its diversity - its topography, soils, plant life, animal populations and man-made features vary from one part of the island to another. Due to this, planning goals and priorities are also likely to differ from area to area. Here’s a rough sketch handed out at the February 8 meeting, showing where South Fidalgo’s “neighborhood” or plan areas might be. Download and print the document out, adjust or completely re-draw where you think these areas are, and add existing or potential area names. Mail or FAX it back to the address listed on the page, and we’ll include it in discussions at the next public meeting.  (744 Kb, Acrobat® file)
